William Richard Middlemore
ca.
Born 1730   Died March 7, 1772

Son of Richard Middlemore (b. ca. 1699) and Elizabeth. Married to Mary Douglas, with whom he had several children, including George Middlemore (d. 1850), who became Governor of St. Helena.

Middlemore was a sometime officer in the army.

Boswell met him on October 6, 1762 at Kelhead, and described him as "an ugly, stupid, well-tempered gentleman".
