Biography
Smith-Dampier was born ca. 1875 in Twyford, Hampshire, the son of Rev. Alfred Fowler Smith and Jane Mary Dampier (1837-1905). He was educated at Worcester College, Oxford, and at Ely Theological College, becoming Bachelor of Divinity. He served as Curate of All Souls in Brighton from 1899 until 1902, and at the Holy Trinity, Winchester from 1903.
