Biography
Son of Kenneth Mackenzie of Assynt and Frances Mackenzie (dau of Alexander Mackenzie of Conansbay). A student from the Scots College at Douai and sometime prior of the Scots monastery, St. James's Abbey, in Würzburg.1
Identified by Boswell only as "Mr. Mackenzie a relation of the Seaforth family who has been a very long time abroad [...] and spoke french like a Parisian". 2
